Q
Is the wood pressure treated?
A
Yes. We only use pressure treated wood on all fence jobs unless the customer specifies a different type of wood such as cedar or cypress.
Q
Do you put concrete around all the posts?
A
Yes. All posts are concreted. Wood posts typically require about 60 lbs. of concrete per hole. Residential chain link more typically requires about 40 lbs. per hole.
Q
How do you measure for fence?
A
All fence is measured in linear feet. Therefore, all you have to do is measure the length of line where you want the fence and we figure the price based on the footage.
Q
Why should I use steel-framed gates?
A
Steel-framed gates offers strength and stability that wood framed gates cannot offer. Our steel gates are welded together and will not warp, twist, or sag over time as wood framed gates eventually will. To ensure stability, we also hang our gates from 6x6 posts instead of 4x4 posts.
Q
Why do people stain their fences?
A
All wood fence will weather over time. Your fence will actually look better and better for the first six to eight months. Then the sun starts to wash the color out of it and a residue begins to oxidize on the wood. Your fence will either turn a grayish color or begin to lose alot of its color all together and become faded. This is most prevalent where you see places on fences that have had sprinklers constantly srpaying against them. Another major problem is that your fence becomes more brittle and is more susecptible to cracking and splitting. The stain protects the wood from all these elements and preserves it for a stronger, better looking fence.
